Hardness is measured on the Janka scale. A higher Janka rating indicates harder wood—more resistant to scratches and dents.
Stability refers to how well a floor resists moving with changes in temperature and/or moisture. Stability depends on a specie’s dimensional change coefficient—the lower the better.
Cost is measured in price per square foot. This is a rough estimate—prices can fluctuate depending on market conditions.

Adding texture to your floor provides traction for your pet and aids in preventing slips and scratches. Texture also camouflages wear and tear on the floor.
Texture coverage refers to the percentage of your floor that will be covered by the texture.
Texture depth refers to how deep or aggressive a texture pattern is—how far into the surface the texture penetrates.

Character refers to the size and quantity of natural variations of color, knots, and uniqueness of each species.
Cost is measured in price per square foot. In general, floors with more character are less expensive. This is a rough estimate—prices can fluctuate depending on market conditions.
Lengths refers to the average board length of your floor. Longer lengths come from leaving the tree in its most natural characteristic form.
Availability refers to how quickly we can acquire the raw lumber to create your floor. Greater the availability means shorter lead times.

Cost is measured in price per square foot. Narrower boards tend to be significantly less expensive. Mixed widths are more readily available and tend to be slightly less expensive. This is only a rough estimate—prices fluctuate depending on market conditions.
Traditionally, floors were built using the entire tree which resulted in boards of mixed widths. A less traditional approach is to use all boards of a single width.
